Fire destroys Wolverhampton Strykers bowling alley

A fire has destroyed a closed-down bowling alley in Wolverhampton.

The blaze at Strykers, which shut in October, was brought under control by 22:00 GMT on Sunday.

About 100 firefighters were there at the height of the fire at the single-storey building in Shaw Road.

West Midlands Fire Service said its officers and the police were investigating the cause of the blaze.

Firefighters who were tackling the flames from inside the building were brought back outside when it began to show \”severe signs of collapse\”.

One firefighter suffered an ankle injury.
