Blisworth fire: Pro Tiler blaze cost \’up to £250,000\’

The owners of a tile business that lost two of its three units in a fire say it has lost stock worth up to £250,000.

About 50 firefighters tackled the fire at Pro Tiler Tools on the JBJ business park in Blisworth on Friday.

The firm reopened for business on Monday but said the two units would have to be demolished.

The fire service said an investigation into the fire was continuing but it was not thought to be suspicious.

The fire destroyed one unit containing ceramic tile stock and another unit containing tools.

\’We will survive\’ Andy Bucknall, managing director of Pro Tiler Tools, said: \”We haven\’t totted things up yet, but I would estimate that we\’ve lost up to £250,000 in stock.

\”The landlord\’s going to get us a couple of containers to see if we can continue to operate from here long-term, but it depends on whether our remaining unit\’s shared wall has to be pulled down or not.

\”I\’d like to thank friends, family and others on the industrial estate for helping get us back up-and-running and, as we\’re an internet-based business, we will survive.\”

Mr Bucknall said the firm was insured.

A neighbouring unit, Carpet Line, said it was unable to estimate the cost of the fire, but the business was still operating and taking orders.
