Wrexham bus fire blamed on electrical fault

An electrical fault has been blamed for a fire which seriously damaged a bus.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the engine fault led to the fire in the vehicle on the A525 at Penley as it travelled between Wrexham and Whitchurch, Shropshire.

There were no passengers on board when the fire broke out at about 09:20 GMT on Tuesday and the driver was not hurt.

The fire, on the GHA Coaches 146 service, led to the closure of the road between Penley and Hanmer.
